- when machining from a block of scintillator there may be internal stresses, may have to do it as a two-step process
- polishing is challenging, there was no hand polishing form Hall B SC
- molded surface best, better than hand polished
- cutting too fast can lead to crazing, or too much at a time
- wrapping difficult, thermal shaped Tedlar material
- Rohacell does not come in large blocks
- inner form support, used Lastifoam [sp?], machined out of a single piece, about1/4″ thick
- outside: indiviual pieces, softer foam than inner foam
- used woven cotton tape to secure everything on the outside
